We have vacancies for a band 6 senior occupational therapist at the John Elliot Unit. we are looking with somebody who has relevant experience in the OT profession who can help guide the team.

We are an adult of working age mental health unit with two 18 bed wards for males and females in the Rochdale area.
The successful applicant will be working with an existing team consisting of OT, R&I worker, delayed discharge coordinator and two activity worker.
It's a really friendly small hospital with motivated staff that want the best for their patients.
Main duties of the job
To identify and assess Occupational Therapy need and plan therapeutic interventions using the Model of Human Occupation To be responsible for prioritising own work load using screening tool and delegate to the Recovery and Inclusion Workers as required. To work with the multidisciplinary team on the ward. To liaise, plan and co-ordinate with other professional agencies, including wards, CMHT, Housing, Third sector agencies to ensure continuity of care and quality service. To participate in discharge planning meetings, care plan reviews, Best Interest meetings, and informal discussions concerning patients. To be responsible write accurate and concise clinical reports using Model of Human Occupation outcome measures and to ensure up to date and accurate records are maintained regarding all patient contact. Comply with HCPC Occupational Therapists standards of proficiency.
