Job summary

The operating suite includes five theatres and one treatment room. One theatre is used exclusively for trauma and orthopaedic patients and it hosts a sophisticated laminar flow system. The suite also includes a 10-bed post-operative recovery suite.

To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision. The role demands the flexibility of being able to work across all specialties carried out within the department. To be responsible for a defined caseload as a named nurse. The post holder will be required to provide assistance to the surgeons during all surgical procedures whether under local or general anesthetics The post holder will be required to work autonomously in the theatre areas of the Trust, providing knowledge and skills for surgery in the peri-operative setting. The post holder will be required to work autonomously in the outside areas of the Trust, providing knowledge and skills for surgery in the peri-operative setting. The post holder will be required to provide care for patients in the outside areas of Operative Services, which includes the Surgical Centre The post holder is responsible for planning, implementing and assessing care of patients. The post holder will ensure that standards are met as per national and local guidelines, including National Frameworks.

Main duties of the job

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
