Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisenfor an Occupational Therapist for the Highfield Unit based in Warneford Hospital.We are seeking a candidate who is able to supply specialist services to youngpeople with mental health problems.

Main duties of the job

To develop and provide a quality needs led Occupational Therapy serviceas part of the multi-disciplinary team for Highfield Unit.

To provide an Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation process for referredpatients in collaboration with professional colleagues and clinical services, in order to enablecontinuity of care.

To take a leading role in the development of Occupational Therapy services or specialistprogrammes for young people with mental health problems.

The post will be delivered flexibly Monday to Sunday with some evening and weekend workincluded.

Hours: hours Monday-Friday(includes some weekends, evenings and school holiday periods.)

Shift Pattern: 9:00-17:00 (Flexibleworking pattern available)

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trustprovides physical, mental health and social care across Oxfordshire,Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Theirservices are delivered across the community in hospitals, clinics, communitybases and in patients homes, as they focus on delivering care as close to homeas possible.

The post holder will beresponsible for providing assessments, treatments and evaluation processes forreferred patients whilst partnering with colleagues to enable continuity ofcare. In managing your own caseload there will be responsibility to workcollaboratively for treatment programmes and discharge plans which willregularly be re-evaluated in order to transition patients through stages oftheir care. The role requires the development and maintenance of relevanttherapeutic activities as appropriate to the patient group served, includingopportunities for cognitive, creative, education, work, leisure, interpersonaland life skills. There will be a requirement to be able to work flexibly acrossthe service, through weekends, evening and outside of school term-time.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Currentrelevant professional registration Minimum 2years post-qualification experience Enhanced DBS UK/NHSexperience Experience ofsupervising staff Workingknowledge of CAMHS services or Adult in-patient & community services Experienceworking with young people with ASD and knowledge of sensory integrationassessments.
