Job Description
Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader the role will entail the assembly and commissioning of machines, machine modules and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and 3d models, the successful applicant, ideally apprentice trained, must have a keen eye for detail and an understanding of engineering processes,
Working within a small manufacturing team the applicant must be flexible, self motivated and able to work well in a team and individually
Key Responsibilities
Within area of operation, the Mechanical Technician will;
Follow all department procedures Assemble parts to the required specification including:machine buildmodular assembliessub-assembliesComplete all quality documentation required for the tasks Identify problems with assemblies / parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures Operate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do so Support the sustainment and improvement of housekeeping and health and safety practices Support in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standards Assist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan to include on time delivery and build efficiency Actively drive continuous improvement Any other reasonable request by the line management teamTargets and measures
The job holder’s success will be measured by, but not limited to;

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
The job holder will hold the following knowledge and skills;
Apprentice trained Ability to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials Ability to understand mechanical design assembly Previous assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment Experience of assembling large fabricated parts to engineering drawings ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components Good verbal and written communication skills Good numeracy Computer literate Hold a counterbalance forklift license (desirable) Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (desirable)
