Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Ophthalmic Assistant within the Eye Outpatient department. The post holder will work as part of the team across the different services/clinics offered within the department and at the Community Hospitals. Experience within Ophthalmology would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Every day, you will make a huge difference to the lives of the people we care for, delivering a high standard of care alongside your colleagues. Providing personal care, promoting nutritional needs, and assisting in the recovery and recuperation of patients on their journey to better health are just some aspects of this essential role.

We are recruiting a Ophthalmic Assistant to be part of our Ophthalmology team.

The post holder is responsible to provide quality care under the supervision of the qualified nurses and to work within the limits of their knowledge base.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 4-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 4. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 4 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 3-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 3/ | NHS Employers).
