Job Description

We are currently seeking a Backhaul & Fleet Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Daventry site. As a Backhaul & Fleet Coordinator you will ensure all maintenance requirements are met for the site fleet of Tesco Trailers and Shunt vehicles in line with company documented processes and legal compliance requirements. You will also ensure all Daventry Backhaul collections are booked and collected within the given time frame provided by Tesco Primary.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday Days (08:00 - 14:00)

Salary: £16,360 PA

Job responsibilities of Backhaul & Fleet Coordinator include:

    • Administration of the sites on site fleet records ensuring that all files are maintained to a legally compliant standard and any discrepancies well documented within.
    • To track the on site fleet on a daily basis using GTS, Isotrak and reports issued from sites.
    • Carrying out PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) checks on trailers in the yard to be able to deem roadworthiness.
    • To manage the onsite VOR trailers to a level that will not impact the operation.
    • To liaise with other depots VMU (Vehicle Maintenance Units) and Transport Departments to acquire service documentation and arrange repatriation of trailers for service.
    • To be able to give a clear and concise account of the present legal status of the fleet whilst presenting to management and auditors both internal and external.
    • To constantly maintain service and tracking schedules within the depot.
    • To manage the onsite defect book and log ensuring that all defects are written and administrated correctly.
    • To make maintenance call outs for defects and tyres both on and off site whilst managing the timescales and communicating where necessary.
    • Proactively communicate to the on site management team any issues operational or otherwise
    • Booking all Backhaul collections into Daventry Grocery via the System
    • Liaising with external suppliers to book all relevant collection times.
    • Managing all collections. Ensuring rescheduling, late runners and failed collections are all reported correctly.
    • Working closely with the Tesco primary team and National planning.
    • All store / Backhaul schedules for the following day to be provisionally checked before confirming final schedules.
    • Importing the following days store schedule to GTS daily.
    • Providing the depot with daily trailer requirements for the following day ensuring all runs are planned with the correct trailer types.
    • Building the store schedule for the daily despatch spreadsheet.
    • Ensuring all priority store deliveries are planned out at their designated despatch times. Helping protect larger format performance.
    • Manually re rate all store / backhaul runs on GTS.

Qualifications

As a Backhaul & Fleet Coordinator you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications

  • Experience of the Microsoft office packages (Word / Excel / Outlook)
  • Experience in a busy Transport environment.
  • Experience working on a customer site.
  • GCSE grade ‘C’ or above in Maths and English
  • Equivalent of 5 GCSE grade ‘C’ or above
