The Role

Support and steer the Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets Pricing team in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of their target operating model, standards, procedures, and guidelines for Pricing models. Provide core input to the agile Pricing Tools transformation project for GSI, working with colleagues from Pricing, IT, Transformation and Underwriting. Represent MRS-GM in GSI project meetings, contributing key technical expertise to ensure continued progress and successful outcomes. Migrate current Excel based rating tools to Hx ReNew, a Python-based commercial rating Software as a Solution. Develop and enhance rating tools as they are migrated, making use of additional modelling techniques, external data sources and improved data integrations. Work closely with IT to ensure data integrations are as efficient and effective as possible. Utilise Hx Renew to the best of its potential, ensuring optimum value is achieved from the software. Support the product pricing actuaries in developing the necessary skills to help build, develop and support the ongoing maintenance of rating tools within the new platform. Apply rigorous coding standards in reviewing the work of others and managing junior resources Help the Pricing team to develop DevOps best practices and train and support other actuarial team members in the use of advanced software engineering approaches. Ensure all pricing related regulations and requirements are adhered to in the development of new pricing tools and supporting documentation. Optimise and strengthen Pricing model processes and output to support the profitable ambitions of the company. Manage the periodic model re-parameterisation process, ensuring pricing actuaries and analysts perform rate reviews within agreed frameworks and streamline the implementation of parameter updates, using advanced technology solutions where suitable. Investigate, promote and embrace innovative ideas to develop and enhance the pricing capabilities of the business, including development of real time model MI, machine learning techniques and price optimisation. Develop and manage relationships across the GSI community, collaborating and sharing expertise of model building for mutual benefit. Review and if necessary, provide challenge on the work / conclusions of peers and mentees. Ensure all advice offered is in line with the Technical Actuarial Standards (TAS). Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.

What we are looking for

Extensive experience of coding in Python and understanding of advanced coding techniques.

Extensive pricing experience in the Lloyd's market

Advanced expertise in Excel and SQL. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience and proven success of working within an Agile project framework. Leadership experience, including oversight and mentoring of more junior colleagues. Project management experience. Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with senior stake holders. Willingness to further increase knowledge and develop technical and management skills.
