Job Summary

Due to an exciting period of growth, we are now seeking a talented Full Stack Data Scientist to join our Data & Analytics Office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with IT and data other data scientists to efficiently extract, structure, and utilise data from across the business. As a bridge between raw data sources and data consumers, you will play a key role in enabling the use of data in our daily operations.

Job Responsibilities

Data Engineering

Database Architecture: Design and structure databases for efficient data storage, management, and retrieval specific to business needs. Database Querying: Write and execute queries to retrieve and manipulate data in a database, utilising SQL and Python. Database Population: Add or import data into databases, ensuring proper organisation and storage. Data Exploration: Analyse datasets to discover patterns, insights, or characteristics, using statistical analysis and visualisation tools. Data Quality: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data within systems or databases. Data Cleaning: Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in data to enhance its quality and usefulness. Data Transformation/Feature Creation: Convert raw data into formats more suitable for analysis and create new data features for analytical tasks. Data Pipelining: Create and manage workflows that automatically move and process data through different stages in a continuous, automated manner. Tool Automation: Develop software tools or scripts according to business needs.

Software development

Front-end/Web-app Development: Design and develop user interfaces and experiences for web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Analytics

Data Analytics: Examine datasets to derive conclusions and insights using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques. ML Development: Create and train machine learning models, including algorithm selection, feature engineering, and model tuning. API Development: Design and implement application programming interfaces for software applications communication.

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

You will have some previous experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of the aerospace (or similar) engineering and/or manufacturing industry; You will be able to demonstrate an exceptional level of initiative and an extraordinary ability to analyse complex problems, think creatively, and devise innovative solutions under pressure. Your curiosity, combined with a continuing desire for knowledge and self-improvement, is evidenced by a track-record of acquiring new skills and adapting to new challenges. You easily gain a clear understanding of organisational needs, contributing insights for strategic planning and alignment. You have a consistent track record of striving for and achieving the highest standards in all endeavors, coupled with a strong sense of integrity. You demonstrate leadership qualities and are able to guide teams effectively, fostering a positive work environment. You communicate complex ideas in a clear manner. You are able to stay focused and productive in fast-paced or uncertain situations, adapting well to change. You hold at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. Any knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) would be a bonus
