Maintenance Engineer

The Role

To provide the required technical support to the site to ensure maximum utilisation of plant, systems and machinery whilst maintaining the company standards of quality, productivity, environment and health & safety areas.

Main tasks and responsibilities for the role:

Maintain the engineering capability of the plant in line with the needs of the business. To monitor and maintain the planned maintenance system. To highlight to the appropriate personnel any potentially serious breakdown situations. To ensure effective crew handovers. To ensure effective communication with all relevant departments. To ensure engineering compliance with Company, site and statutory health and safety policies, procedures and regulations. Contribute to the upgrade, service and installation of all new and existing equipment. To maintain an adequate supply of essential spares. To support the promotion and maintenance of the team working philosophy. To assist with/arrange the maintenance of site services as appropriate. Salary Depending on experience £40, to £50,
Hours of work: 4 on 4 off (4 days 4 off 4 nights 4 off) 7 till 7

Key Accountabilities

In proportion to job responsibilities:

To ensure knowledge of and compliance with all food safety & quality policies and procedures. To ensure knowledge of and compliance with all health & safety policies and procedures. To assist with the training and development of others. To ensure effective communication. To ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

Recognised and validated maintenance engineering qualification or certificate training to NVQ Level 3 standard Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) Time served apprenticeship Standards and systems: Demonstrates an understanding for compliance and quality of all food safety and quality polices and procedures. Team working: Demonstrates an ability to work as an active and constructive member of a team. Information management: Demonstrates that information is used and managed correctly.
