Exciting Opportunity for a Full-Time KS2 Teaching Assistant in Plymouth

The Role:

  • Position: KS2 Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
  • Hours: 6.5 hours per day, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Potential to lead to a permanent role for the right candidate

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom environment and helping students thrive. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Providing tailored support to individual students or small groups, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere that nurtures learning and confidence.
  • Supporting students’ social and emotional well-being, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Helping with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Assisting in the monitoring and assessment of student progress, helping to record their achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Encouraging good behaviour and positive interactions in line with the school’s ethos and values.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in an educational setting
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (advantageous)
  • Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to complete a new one
