Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join team in Peterlee, Durham.

The successful candidate will play critical role in optimising manufacturing process, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement efforts.

Salary: £20.00-£23.00

Working Hours: 36.5h a week early finish on Friday

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will, use technical skills to design, develop and implement manufacturing systems and machines, plan and deliver projects. Stay updated on new technologies, mentor and coach team members. Expand your professional network.

Job responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing projects related to manufacturing, fabrication, painting and assembly projects
  • Helping to create and manage department budgets and forecast for expenses and capital
  • Ensuring engineering drawings are released and processed on time for new product builds
  • Solving operational issues related to safety, efficient and cost-effective systems and process for quality products
  • Overseeing the procurement, installation, and capability of new processes and equipment for fabrication, material handling, testing, heat treating, welding, painting ad chemical processing
  • Coordinating the purchase and use of advanced machine tools and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Supporting the design of complex jigs and fixtures

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good Microsoft office knowledge
  • Project management or process optimisation experience
  • Degree or Experience in a manufacturing or engineering related discipline
