What you'll be doing:

  • Building, automating and supporting development and production environments both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Defining what good looks like, and ensuring we get there as part of migrating from our on-premise infrastructure into the cloud
  • Providing operational insights by deploying and maintaining logging, monitoring and alerting solutions
  • Building and maintaining highly available services, reusable infrastructure as code modules, and robust continuous delivery pipelines
  • Troubleshooting and resolving production issues and working with engineering teams to detect and prevent future issues
  • Utilizing your existing experience of continuous integration and deployment to shorten feedback cycles
  • Providing on-call support for our platform alongside other engineers
  • Leading the upskilling of other engineers by coaching and mentoring them in DevOps best practices
  • Refining the department’s architecture and other tech principles

What you'll need:

  • Strong experience of large scale enterprise deployments with high numbers of services
  • Strong experience of migrating from on-premises to cloud based infrastructure
  • Strong skills in cloud deployment best practices, tools and processes using AWS
  • Strong cloud architecture experience, able to structure both infrastructure and applications for optimum performance
  • Expert level coding, scripting and testing capabilities
  • Experience creating and working with CI / CD pipelines
  • Experience in cloud based persistence (including relational and non-relational database) configuration and optimisation
  • Experience in implementation of security best practices
