Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nursing Associate to undertake a further months of study with University of Chester to become a Registered Nurse. The programme commences in January 5.

The programme is delivered using a full time study model. You will be either attending taught sessions in university or placed in a clinical environment too enable you to achieve the NMC standards of Proficiency and professional values. You will be required to keep in touch with your line manager and attend tripartite meetings with your employer and university to ensure your learning and attendance is on track. All sickness must be reported to your line manager. Annual leave can only be taken as timetabled by the university.

Through a university programme you will rotate through a variety of placements to develop skills to enable you to qualify as a registered nurse.

You will be required to maintain your nursing associate registration throughout this period of time.

During the initial phase of the training programme, all work activities should be under direct guidance and supervision of the registered practitioner. As the training programme progresses, following discussion and agreement with mentors and supervisors, supervision and guidance will be both direct and indirect.

Essential criteria

Registered Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner Level 2 Functional Skills in maths or ESFA approved equivalent (GCSE Grade A-C/4-9) Level 2 Functional Skills in maths or ESFA approved equivalent (GCSE Grade A-C/4-9) Need to complete and pass all course modules and clinical competencies within contract period
