Job summary

The candidate will be an experienced paramedic (band 7) who can workautonomously and within their professional boundary to provide care for thepresenting patient, working alongside the multi-disciplinary team referringcases to GPs and other healthcare professionals as necessary.

The paramedic will work closely with our GPs and widermulti-disciplinary team to advise on treatment and healthcare for patients, toinclude those presenting in the primary care setting as well as those in thecommunity in care settings.

The post holder will also attend home visits, to includeresidential and nursing homes, where they will liaise with staff, family, andother stakeholders in the acute treatment of problems, post discharge reviewsand production of care plans to be shared with other providers. This willinclude elements of post admission and discharge review work to ascertain ifsuch were appropriate or other action could have been taken.

The practitioner will demonstrate safe, clinicaldecision-making and expert care for patients.

Main duties of the job

Primarily the role is acute care work in a minor illness setting using your enhanced clinical assessment and treatment skills.

Everest House Surgery is a friendly, busy GP practice in the Adeyfield area of Hemel Hempstead.

We currently have 6 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 full time paramedics and an experienced nursing team alongside an efficient and knowledgeable administrative team.

Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Educated to degree level in a Paramedic science

Experience

The ideal candidate will be capable of clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of minor illness, via face to face appointments, telephone consultations and home visits. If you are confident working autonomously and as part of a team, able to prioritise workload and willing to take responsibility for decision making We want to hear from you This position will suit someone who is able to use initiative whilst providing exceptional patient care.
