Luton, United Kingdom Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, highly motivated people to join our ever evolving OMFS team.

The Covid pandemic has impacted services across the UK greatly in terms of waiting times - in order to respond to this increased demand, our service is looking to undertake additional activity to bring our waiting times down, and reduce the number of patients we have awaiting appointments and treatments. In order to do this we are seeking individuals to join our internal 'bank' who are willing to support our department as and when we undertake additional clinical sessions - these may include outpatient clinics of local anaesthetic treatment sessions. We are looking for all qualified individuals who are able to work mid-week, evenings or weekends.

The job involves providing a high standard of quality care to a wide variety of patients, some with complex needs. The department is a well-established service which is consultant-led and provides acute medical, orthodontic, restorative and surgical treatments within the areas.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Dental Nurse will be to act as a chaperone within outpatient clinics, supporting the Consultant / Clinician with their needs and ensuring the clinical activity flows in an efficient and effective manner. You will be expected to use your nursing skills to adapt to working in all areas within our department including Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial, Orthodontics and Restorative, and learn new skills and techniques as you progress.

Working for our organisation

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton. Both hospital sites offer key services such as A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity and Paediatrics.

You will be joining a friendly, high performing Trust committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of staff. As one of the largest NHS Trusts in our region you will have access to a programme of high quality training and development to help you grow your career.

We have state-of-the art facilities placing us at the heart of cutting edge health care. The Trust continues to be committed to delivering the best patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology available.

Please note that vacancies may close prior to the advertised closing date when sufficient number of applications have been received. Please ensure that you make your application as soon as possible.
