Hays Education are representing a Leicestershire based secondary school that are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic KS3/KS4 English Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English across KS3 and KS4. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the national curriculum and be able to deliver engaging and challenging lessons. Due to this being a long-term role, full teaching responsibilities will be required, including planning and marking. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the English curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment results.


You will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
