Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity for a -motivated and driven Clinical Research Nurse has arisen in the Adult Critical Care & Perioperative Medicine Research Department based at The Royal London Hospital, under the leadership of Professor Rupert Pearse. The successful applicant will be joining a multidisciplinary research team who undertake both investigator initiated and commercially sponsored research projects. Our research team is currently involved in many trials in the perioperative and critical care field across three hospital at three separate sites: The Royal London Hospital (RLH), Newham (NUH) and Whipps Cross (WXH). We have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere in an international multidisciplinary team with quick and easy transport links to all our sites.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated nurse to become part of the Research Team, to assist in the delivery of clinical trials, including early phase studies, with keen attention to detail. Successful applicants will be involved in a mixture of academic and commercial research studies across a broad range of conditions.

The post-holder will have strong organisational and planning skills and be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Research experience is desirable but not essential. Candidate will be a registered nurse and should be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team.

We are looking for someone to develop and apply leadership skills in the management of Clinical Trials. They will be expected to show initiative and autonomy in the day to day running of the Clinical Trials, and be responsible for managing support staff within the units, patients and relatives

Registered Nurse or equivalent Post graduate diploma/equivalent experience Good Clinical Practice Training

Adult intensive care course or ENB 100 equivalent

Articulate with good written and excellent oral communication skills Able to produce clear and accurate written and verbal reports Good spoken and written English Demonstrate flexible approach to communication with patients and staff
