Job summary

Our Cancer Directorate is inviting applications from healthcare support workers who are interested to join the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists in benign Urology. This job is a full time post to support our nurse led Trial with out Catheter clinics (TWOC) and other urology clinical work load such Urodynamic and Video Urodynamics clinic.

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team that provides surgical treatment to people with urological conditions. You will be influencing the care that they receive; attending clinics, supporting clinic staff as they implement services. You will also be supporting some of the urology patient on the ward, who is on Enhanced recovery programme. You will be working closely with consultant team and specialist nurses in urology

You will provide support specialist nursing team to provide the highest levels of safe and effective care and a positive patient experience.

Main duties of the job

To support nurses in the specialist nursing team in nurse lead clinics.

To assist specialist nurses and consultant team in urology procedure clinic.

Support specialist nursing team to manage patient messages on telephone and My chart.

Liaising with other hospital to obtain results and reports for patients where needed to avoid delays

Job responsibilities

Due to recent changes in Immigration and Sponsorship rules, only those with at least two years relevant NHS experience in this role will currently meet the required salary threshold for Sponsorship. If you will require Sponsorship and you currently have a Visa under which you can work, but it is due to expire before you have been able to gain two years relevant NHS experience to meet the required salary threshold, the Trust will not be able to Sponsor you.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have:

- applied for a Graduate visa

- or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health related subject 4 GCSE's or equivalent

Working towards foundation degree or equivalent

Experience

To have worked within an acute hospital setting Assisting with surgical procedures Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

Experience in working in outpatients settings or urology out patients Competency in Bladder scanning/Willingness to undertake training Experience in supporting patients with indwelling catheters
