Your new company: As the leading agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a Contractor Escort to Escort Building Contractors around HMP Grendon/Springhill, which is based outside central Aylesbury.
Your new role: As part of the security team, you will be responsible for assisting with the safety and security of the establishment, where your duties will include escorting building contractors. You will ensure the safety and security of the people within a prison establishment, while people from outside of NOMS are on site. You will also ensure that no unauthorised persons or items enter the establishment. This role has free parking and access to the-site gym facilities.
Duties: Escorting contractors & vehicles
Radio handling
Contractor Tool checks
Searching for buildings (work areas only)
Radio operation
What you'll need to succeed
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role.
The nature of the Contractor Escort role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will also need to be reliable and consistent, level-headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer service or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: acting with integrity, respecting others, building relationships and team work, communicating effectively, developing self and others.Full training is provided by the establishment/department, which is fully paid for.
A security check on yourself will be carried out. However, this can be done fairly quickly and should allow you to start within 3 weeks, depending on your own situation.You will work Monday - Friday from 7:00am – 4:00pm.
