HGV 1 CONTAINER DRIVERS REQUIRED – ADHOC OR MONDAY TO FRIDAY – PAYE OR PAYE UMBRELLA
Location: Coventry
Job Type:
- Full Time – Monday to Friday or adhoc basis – no weekends.
Pay Rate:
- Paye £15.50 per hour
- Paye with holiday rolled up £17.37 per hour
- UMBRELLA £18.00
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday, Days
- PM 16:00 -17:00 start time
- Monday to Friday drivers - guaranteed 40 hours per week
Role:
- To deliver or collect containers – mainly running to Felixstowe docks.
Dress Code:
- All Black or Navy blue clothing – smart clean appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations mainly Felixstowe
- Safely dealing with loading and offloading of containers including using trailers- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
- Communicate with dispatch to receive instructions and updates on delivery routes
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries
Qualifications:
- Must have container experience
- Experience using Skeletal trailers including trailers with a sliding bogie and twist locks.
- Valid CE driver's license (HGV Class 1)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents
- Ability to drive various types of trucks
- Experience driving both Manual and Automatic vehicles
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
Licence/Certification:
- Minimum 12 months experience working on containers.
- Class 1 Driving Licences (required)
- Driver CPC and DIGI card (required)
- Felixstowe rhides port card is required – if yours has expired or you do not have your Felixstowe card this can be obtained by completing the online test
- You will need to be able to provide a copy of your DCPC certification – if you do not have this we can provide you with the link where you can request a copy.
- You will be required to pass a test paper before we will consider you for the above position.
