Nasdaq is looking for an experienced manager to lead the European Data team within our Investment Intelligence unit. The Nasdaq Investment Intelligence business provides innovative alternative, real-time and historical information products for multiple asset classes, as well as analytic solutions designed for investors of all sizes and at every stage of the investment lifecycle.

The EMEA team is responsible for the market data products coming from the Nordic and Baltic exchanges, as well as a number of other data products that help our customers make smart decisions, including Sustainability and Precious Metals offerings. The role would suit someone with a background in Product Management or Product Development since a large portion of the role will be building out the client offering. Equally important is the ability to engage with regulators and legislators in the European Union and to educate them on issues in the market data space.

In this role you will manage a team of around 15 product managers, developers and salespeople based in offices across Europe. You will take on P&L responsibility for the EU data business and will be responsible for the ideation and development of new data products and the development of third-party partnerships in Europe. The role reports into the Global Head of Data.

As the EMEA leader for data, the candidate will work with various internal and external stakeholders, engaging with business, legal and compliance leads, and representing Investment Intelligence towards the EMEA management team. You will also be required to represent Nasdaq EMEA Data in the media, at events, and towards industry bodies and regulators alike.

Role description:

Manage the product management team, the product development team, and the EU sales team. P&L ownership for the EU Data business. Become the subject expert for market data within the EU organisation. High level of interaction with customers/prospects, including quants, analysts. Act as the link between the EU business and the wider global Data team. Take ownership of problem resolution for both product and sales. Drive innovation within the business to organically grow the revenue pool and look to enhance existing data products. Provide strategic input to product development. Monitor sales efforts and coordinate with the sales manager to ensure the team are meeting targets. Represent Nasdaq at professional industry group meetings, in local media and at events. Represent Nasdaq towards regulators in the countries we operate in. Provide strategic input to product development. Work together with business stakeholders in marketing, operations, legal and compliance.

Who are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or marketing/sales preferred. Minimum of 10 years in a relevant role within market data industry or financial data – must have had management experience for a team of a similar size. Knowledge of European Market Structure and excellent contacts/network in the market. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of CRM and other sales applications. Understanding of the regulatory landscape and have strong knowledge of MIFID II and its impact on the buy- and sell side. Highly proficient level computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Excellent time management skills. Highly energetic and self-starter. Able to multi-task on activities with shifting priorities. Ability to understand the main business drivers of current and potential customers, and design solutions accordingly. Successful candidate will need to develop subject matter expertise in complex Nasdaq offerings to assist the product team to meet the unique needs of our customers. Frequent international travel. European languages are helpful but not required.
