Job overview

The ENT department are looking for an enthusiastic candidate for the role of Speciality Coordinator to support the daily running of ENT admissions within the wider Head & Neck Admissions team. 

The successful candidate will work to provide and manage an efficient and effective administration service.

Main duties of the job

Excellent communication and office management skills Highly organised with the ability to prioritise daily workload autonomously or as part of a team Enthusiastic, motivated and experienced in administration Knowledge of RTT  Knowledge of 18 week pathway Liaise with patients and clinicians to ensure the waiting list is accurate and theatre lists are booked to capacity

This role is situated within the Head and Neck department, the successful candidate will work specifically within ENT and will work closely with consultants, doctors and clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of services.

The ENT department provides services across all of the Trust's sites, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Andover War Memorial Hospital and Alton Hospital

Our unit in Basingstoke Hospital provides outpatient, day case and elective services to our patients.

Training & Qualification

Essential criteria

Good standard of general Education including English Language, maths of GCSE or equivalent Or ECDL Certificate Or Formal secretarial/senior administration training Or NVQ2 or equivalent plus relevant experience

Desirable criteria

Customer Care Training Or similar

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria

Experience in supervising a team Experience of supervising a team in a large, complicated organisation Experience of developing new processes. Experience in implementing change. Able to demonstrate from previous employment history evidence of job-related achievements and success Experience of performance management Experience/ Knowledge of the 18-week pathway

Desirable criteria

Previous experience of using databases NHS experience in an Acute Trust Knowledge of outpatient clinic structures, waiting lists and outpatient operational procedures. Good insight into the importance of NHS performance and quality standards

Skills & Ability
