The Revvity Mimix Diagnostic Reference Standards team provides genetically defined, human cell line derived genomic reference standards. These standards offer a sustainable source of reference material to laboratories, proficiency schemes, and manufacturers, and provide an unprecedented level of control to the molecular pathology community. The availability of genetically defined reference standards provides an industry standard for development and quality control of molecular assays, directly improving their accuracy.

Our R&D team in Cambridge have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Product Development Manager to join our Mimix Research and Development Group and make their mark in the development of the next wave of diagnostic products and services, from ideation to feasibility and transfer to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct, lead and manage a team of research and development scientists’ team within a dynamic corporate environment.

Conducts and collaborates with others on the principles and theories in biology research.

Writes and reviews manuscripts for publication.

Develops strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives.

Monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects.

May develop budgets for capital expenditures and labour.

Typically participates with other top managers to establish firm policies.

Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters.

Analysing data and presenting results to senior leadership.

Take ownership of own lab-based projects.

Input into product strategy in line with market needs.

Interacting with clients and beta testers.

Supply information to Marketing and BD for product launch activities.

In addition, you will ideally have:

PhD (or equivalent) with product research and development experience and direct management experience.

Experience in the diagnostic industry and/or commercial product development.

A strong understanding of cancer genetics and diagnostics.

Strong molecular biology skills especially around DNA and RNA genetics, IHC, oncology and or neonatal testing.

A highly motivated, detail orientated individual with the proven ability to think innovatively toward solving problems effectively and efficiently.

A can-do attitude and be comfortable with both leading projects and being able to convey complex scientific information to senior leadership.

The following would be advantageous:

Experience in transfer of developed products to a manufacturing team.

Experience of working in a GMP or ISO9001/ISO13485-regulated environment.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment and on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines, be well organized, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
