Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced secretary in our Trauma & Orthopaedic Department to provide comprehensive secretarial support within the department.

It is essential that applicants have previous NHS experience and possess a high level of audio typing skills. You should hold a Medical Secretarial Qualification (or have equivalent previous experience) and are qualified to a minimum of RSA Stage (or equivalent).

The successful applicant will be able be able to work as part of a team while managing their own independent workload and competing priorities. The post holder will have a good understanding of Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways and the ability to maintain good and reliable records.

Main duties of the job

To support the co-ordination of the administration arrangements to provide a high quality supportive secretarial service to the consultant, medical and nursing team. To work independently and be accountable for organising/prioritising own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved. To support the facilitation of the patients along a defined pathway. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
