London Borough of Newham, United Kingdom Step Teachers Full time

A mixed school with outstanding features in Newham are seeking a History Teacher to join them full-time ASAP. This is a full-time role, and you will be expected to teach History at KS3 and KS4, so previous experience of teaching history at secondary level is essential. 

History Teacher Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 History curriculum
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

History Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a History Teacher or Humanities Teacher in a Secondary School
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant History related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
