We have an exciting opportunity for a Care and Maintenance Technician working across our existing distribution facilities in Bristol, Severn Beach. This is a key role that is central to the successful delivery of a prestigious contract where Wincanton provide warehousing and distribution for deliveries in to the Hinkley Point C build programme that is playing a key role in Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero.
The Care and Maintenance Technician will be part of an expanding multidisciplinary logistics team. The role will suit an ambitious individual who’s willing to contribute their knowledge and skills to a developing team whilst growing their own experience in one of the nations key infrastructure projects.
They will work with the NNB HPC Equipment & Materials Management team and the Site Asset Management, Care & Maintenance team. The Care and Maintenance Technician will be required.
Key responsibilities
Maintain the procedures, processes, and records to support maintenance activities including but not limited to specifying and scheduling activities.
Adhere to company policies, procedures and protocols for construction, procurement, Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality
Planning and recording all long-term quality records for the Office of Nuclear Regulations (ONR) requirements
Ensure that all plant and equipment delivered to the Warehouse Facilities is maintained as per the supplier requirements
Ensure maintenance arrangements support compliance with regulatory, company policies and industry best practice.
Represent Wincanton at internal and external committees, working groups, forums, and meetings
Schedule and assist asset reviews, report on performance, and monitor action close out and improvement status.
Promote the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency for maintenance on all equipment in the warehouse facilities.
Execute Care and Maintenance activities.
Provide governance of maintenance activities to ensure they are conducted to the required standards and expectations.
Champion continuous improvement by identifying and reporting events, areas for improvement and good practices to enhance performance.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of maintenance practices applied in large engineering organisations across the mechanical engineering disciplines.
Understanding and practical experience of specifying work packages including risk assessments and method statements.
Knowledge of engineering regulations and standards
Demonstrable Engineering/Maintenance experience or applicable qualification
Strong communication skills required
Experience of working alongside contract teams and able to provide challenge and guidance where required.
Experience of developing and implementing Care and Maintenance arrangements
Knowledge of an Asset Management tool
