Job summary
The Pathology team at Eastbourne Hospital are looking for a receptionist to carry out basic administration duties, meet and greet visitors to the department, advise on basic pathology issues (non-clinical) and receive clinical specimens.
Main duties of the job
To form part of the Specimen Reception team responsible for accepting samples into the department from patients or hospital staff. Welcoming visitors.
Distribution of sample containers to staff and patients that attend Specimen Reception.
Distribution of printed clinical results.
Answering basic enquires at the reception desk and liaising with Clinical Scientists to ensure correct information is given.
Answering the telephone.

Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent level NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience
Experience

Previous clerical working in a busy environment Customer care skills and experience preferably with a health care environment Experience of using Microsoft Office - including Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable
At least six months clerical experience particularly in relation to filing systems Previous experience of LIMS systems
