DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Physiotherapist is responsible for patient assessment and the development of treatment plans, with an emphasis on optimizing return to function. Includes client assessment and treatment in the Hand Therapy Clinic and in the Fracture Clinic. Must be able to travel between sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Registration (in good standing) with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario;
*Minimum of 2 year experience in a Hand Therapy clinical setting;
*Demonstrated skill in fabricating static and dynamic splints;
*Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively in a fast pasted/immediate care plastic or fracture clinic environment;
*Ability to manage a high client caseload in a fast-paced environments;
*Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem solving, prioritization and case management skills;
*Excellent assessment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, staff and the community;
*Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;
*Ability to perform the essential duties of the position and experience in evidence-based approach to service delivery;
*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;
*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
