We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacist role at HMP Lewes to join our team. HMP Lewes is a category B male prison. Lewes prison is based near the centre of the historical town of Lewes, which is just a 5 minute walk away.

Due to HMP Lewes holding remand prisoners, we do require staff to work on a rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if you are looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview stage.

Main duties of the job

At Practice Plus Group our pharmacy teams ensure medicines optimisation is embedded into everyday practice. The main focus of the work will be to provide a dispensary and wing-based clinical pharmacy service and work with the Lead Pharmacist on providing medicines management support to a number of different wings within HMP Lewes.

You'll be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service. Working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations.

The role also involves responsibility for providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners.

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Masters Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
