As part of the role you will be requiredto:

To learn how to read engineering drawingsand specifications and to plan layout, assembly, and weldingoperations.
To learn how to determine the kind of toolsand equipment needed to do the job.
To learn how to layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies according tospecifications.
To learn how to pre-heat and cleanmetals, layout, cut, and fit materials for welding.
Tolearn how to select proper welding heat and the proper type andsize of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of weldedmetals.
To learn how to carry out flat, vertical, andhorizontal welding, coat non-ferrous metals, and inspect, brush,and grind welds.
To learn how to develop templates andother work aids to hold and align parts.
To learn how toperform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when andwhat kind of maintenance is required.
To learn how toInspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify the causeof any errors or other problems or defects.
Performsphysical activities that require considerable use of arms and legsand mobile whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing,walking, stooping, and handling ofmaterials.
