Job summary

GPpractice pharmacy technicians are registered healthcare professionals that areresponsible and accountable for their own accurate and safe practice. As a GPpractice pharmacy technician, you will receive ongoing training and developmentabout all aspects of practice based prescribing and effective administrationand will support the practice in providing medication reviews and achievingQuality and Outcomes Framework targets

Main duties of the job

a)Toanswer patient, pharmacy and GP medication queries out of stock queries

b)Totranscribe medicines from consultant letters

c)Toconduct audits and projects based on the business needs

d)Toreview the prescription repeat request queries

e)Tosupport the process of monitoring high blood pressures submitted by patients

f)Vaccineand drug ordering

g)Dailymedication query clinic

h)SupportingQOF Lead with recalls

i)ProcessingDossett boxes

j)Maintaininga clean and safe working environment at all times

k)Maintainingaccurate records at all times, read coding entries appropriately

l)Othertasks as required by line manager

About us

We provide GMS medical services to over 9,500 patients from a purpose-built surgery, we look after three nursing homes within the area. Rated as Outstanding in Well Led and Care of Older People and good in all other areas in a recent CQC inspection.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified Pharmacy Technician (NVQ Level 3) Completed or enrolled on CPPE training pathway

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in primary care

Desirable

Broad knowledge of general practice
