Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Systemic Family Therapist to join our clinical team at our 12 bedded Dragonfly Adolescent Unit for young people aged 13-17.

Led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you would join the clinical team as a key member of the service both assessing and working with families and young people admitted with complex mental health needs.

Our clinical team has clinical psychology, OT, Social work and Art therapy and works closely with our Matron led nursing team, psychiatrists and education service.

The post-holder will be expected to work with the most highly complex cases and to develop an area of special interest within family therapy holding differing views and managing conflict and unknown factors, all of which characterise complex work.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you be joining us at an exciting time as we develop an integrated clinical model of care informed by developmental and relational theory to add to our understanding of mental health difficulties in young people.

Alongside work with the MDT, you would be expected to contribute to service development as we improve our Good CQC rating.

There will be opportunities for training to support our model and practice towards excellence and innovation.

The ambition is to shorten inpatient stays and offer short term inpatient interventions. In the longer-term, our ambition is to embed inpatient services within community hubs and community services, sharing expertise across the systems.

Postgraduate qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy Eligibility for UKCP registration Other related academic qualifications Training in teaching Systematic Psychotherapy
