Job Description
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Secondary School Teacher specialising in English, to cover supply requirements across the Llanelli area.
Work is flexible and you are able to state your preferred days of work, the areas you can travel and the ages and stages you prefer to work with. We have both short-term and long-term supply opportunities.
Supply work is a great way of building relationships with schools. If you are looking to move into permanent work, supply teaching is a great way to showcase your skills and impress the schools you are working with.
NQT’s are encouraged to apply, as supply is a great way to build experience and confidence, which will hopefully help you land your dream job.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective English language lessons, adhering to curriculum guidelines.
- Create engaging and interactive learning materials to support students’ learning.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote collaboration and critical thinking skills.
- Assess students’ language proficiency and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the English language curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents and school staff.
Required Qualifications:
- A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in English or a related field.
- A teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching English at a secondary education level.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural background.
- Familiarity with technology and its integration into the classroom.
