Job summary

Devon PartnershipNHS Trust in partnership with CoLab Exeter are looking to appoint an enthusiasticand creative 8a psychologist or psychological therapist for a new homelessnessand substance based project.

STAR Exeter (System Treatment and Recovery)

The STAR service has been awarded funding by the Office forHealth Improvement and Disparities to bring together a One Team approach toprovide wrap around support and engagement to people rough sleeping or intemporary accommodation, who are experiencing substance misuse challenges butare not yet engaged with relevant services.

The One Team will include a project co-ordinator, teamleader, specialist enablement workers (SEW), Psychologist or PsychologicalTherapist, Assistant Psychologist, GP, data analyst and administrators. Thewhole team will work using a MEAM, trauma informed approach.

The MEAM approach focuses on creating long-term,sustainable change to the way that complex problems and systems are approachedand understood.

STAR aims to:

To increase capacity in system to offerintensive intervention when an individual has a treatable moment

Building on existing excellent practice

Developing current relationships/collaborations

Strengthening an alliance of organisations witha future vision

Existing trust across partners

Realistic expectations

Align with other programmes eg. RSI /Flexible assertivesupport team (FAST)/One Mental Health team and others

Main duties of the job

The service is based at CoLab in Exeter which is amulti-agency wellbeing hub that enables people and organisations to work together,creating conditions for people to lead their best lives and for organisationsto achieve their greatest impact and value.

This provides the opportunity to work alongside and learnfrom third sector expertise in addition to statutory services also based at CoLab. This includes the Trusts Homelessness Team who would also provide linemanagement for the post. Clinical and professional supervision is provided bythe Trust Psychology and Psychological Therapies service.

In addition to a small direct clinical caseload the postholder would be required to support the development of psychologically informedpractice and trauma informed psychological awareness through supervision, ReflectivePractice, involvement in training events and supporting staff wellbeing. Theywould also be involved in evaluation, provide psychological leadership and bepart of wider systemic and organisational thinking.

Experience

Essential

Experience of work in adult mental health services or agencies and work with people with severe and complex mental health difficulties. Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision. Experience in undertaking leadership roles within clinical psychology services in the NHS and in contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies and clinical policies in multi disciplinary, multi agency contexts. Experience, and/or training in diversity awareness and social inequality.

Desirable

Proficiency in in both individual and group therapy approaches is desirable.

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist ( or equivalent) and eligible for Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society. Registered with HCPC. Psychological Therapists need to be trained to Masters level or equivalent in a specific psychological therapy and registered with an appropriate recognised professional body UKCP, BABCP. Further training or experience in clinical specialism Further training in related area Further training in at least one (other) psychological therapy IT Skills

Knowledge

Essential

Broad knowledge of specialist services and of the services in the NHS where psychology is commonly applied. Extensive knowledge of the skills, practice and knowledge base of Clinical/Counselling Psychology. Knowledge of the policy context of specialist psychological services within the organisation and of clinical leadership arrangements in this setting.
