Laundry Assistant - Full Time 


We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Laundry Assistant to join our team at our care home: St Aiden's Cottage, Bear park, Durham, DH7 7AA.

Duties of a Laundry Assistant


Provide laundry services, such as:


  • Collecting dirty items (e.g., clothes, towels & linen).
  • Putting dirty items into the washing machine to be cleaned.
  • Transferring washed items into the dryer or onto drying equipment.
  • Folding (and if appropriate ironing) dried items.
  • Putting folded items back in the relevant storage space.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment
  • Stock-taking of liquids and IPC items
  • Reporting of any repairs needed to Maintenance
  • Be polite and respectful in communication with staff, residents, or external visitors.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals one supports.
  • Attend all statutory training, meetings and any others as directed by a manager.
  • Understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of CQC and their requirements.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role (including IPC procedures)
  • Understand and follow and relevant risk assessments.
  • Be open to learning opportunities.
  • Have a full working knowledge of COSHH regulations

Schedule


  • Full time 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.15pm


Pay Rate


  • £11.77 per hour
