Roselea Court Care Home is looking to appoint a Second Chef
Our purpose-built care facility is situated in the heart of Ninian's suburb of Stirling. We offer exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care for 50-residents.
As Cook, you will work alongside the Head Chef to deliver a high quality of food to our residents and ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner.
Second Chef Contract
- £13.50 per hour
- 40 hours per week
- Pension
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (Based on a full-time contract)
- On-street parking
- Uniform provided
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Required
- City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
- Team player.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative
Desired
- Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
- Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not a deal-breaker.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks
- Conduct Basic Food Hygiene training for all care staff involved in handling and delivery of food.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
- Ensure stock rotation.
- Assist in the ordering of stocks and checking of deliveries
- Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately
