One of the Primary schools that we work closely with in the East Devon area is currently seeking a KS1 Teacher to join them for the new academic year in September. This will be to teach a year 2 class and will be on a full time basis, so will be 8.30-3.30 on a daily basis.

This will involve all planning and preparing, so there may be additional time needed on top of these school hours in order to get this done, however the pay will reflect this additional work needed.

The school needs someone who has experience Teaching, in particular KS1 experience will be really useful for this role. You need to be confident in coming in and picking up the role quickly as it is the last term and you won’t be starting the year fresh. You must also be intuitive and a great team player, the school has a lovely staff base and so they need someone who is happy to join their community. Due to the nature of the role, all relevant Teaching Qualifications are essential.

What will you do on a daily basis?

  • Lead the lessons, involving the planning and preparing
  • Marking and assessing
  • Show excellent curriculum knowledge
  • Manage behavior effectively
  • Promote and nurture independence
  • Build positive working relationships with children and adults alike

What has Ofsted said about the school?

"Leaders prioritise pupils’ well-being and personal development. They plan opportunities carefully to help pupils develop skills for life. For example, the weekly sports activities help build pupils’ understanding of fair play and sharing. Leaders and staff expect pupils to attend school regularly. They work with families who need help to improve their child’s attendance. Staff follow the school’s 'pick me up, don’t put me down’ motto. They care for pupils well".
