Duties & Responsibilities

SDS-Rosyth is recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join a global leader in the Umbilical Manufacturing Industry. SDS-Rosyth specialise in the construction of offshore and deep-water umbilical.

The successful candidate will display the Oceaneering Critical Behaviors to contribute to building a positive team spirit; putting success of the team above self-interests; be able to build morale and group commitment to goals and objectives; and support everyone's efforts to succeed.

Functions

§Experience in the implementation and ongoing administration of an occupational health and safety management system certified to ISO 45001 standard.

§Experience in the implementation and ongoing administration of an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001 standard.

§Experience in facilitating HSE audits (both internal/external and as auditor/auditee)

§Knowledge of UK OH&S and Environmental legislative requirements

§Being the HSE focal point for projects/contracts – collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver on HSE requirements.

§Liaising with subcontractors to improve safety standards.

§Reviewing subcontractor method statements and risk assessments

§Builds relationships within and across teams, manages and mentors less experienced employees, and acts as a model of effective communication

§Overseeing site activities to maintain safe workplaces and verify compliance with method statements and risk assessments.

§Undertaking adverse event investigation and reporting when required

§Assist line management in the investigation of HSE incidents and maintain records for these.

§Collating HSE statistics/key performance indicators and undertaking trend analysis.

§Providing HSE training.

§Occasional weekend/and out of hours working.

§Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

§Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum or prepared to work towards attaining qualification.

§Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

§Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Environmental Management
