Principal Process Safety Engineer

What you will enjoy doing

  • You will support in the area of Process Safety Expertise to all CES, Applications, Bulk & On-Sites and PGP Operations across UK & Ireland, including the process safety technical support to all UK plants
  • You will be responsible for advising the organisation on process safety related matters and provide support through skilled application / proficiency in a range of Process Safety topics
  • Also, you will hold the role of technical authority and will therefore be required to take ownership of internal standards, approve documents produced by others, provide technical guidance and support safety/quality investigations
  • You will attend Team of Expert meetings and external or global meetings, representing the needs of the business and communicating the outputs from the meetings as required
  • And lastly, you will take on the responsibility for the deliverables on complex projects with technical quality, on time, and to budget

What makes you great

  • You are degree qualified, preferably in Chemical or Process Engineering subject or equivalent
  • You have 15+ year’s practical industrial experience (including graduate scheme or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, preferably in a process industry operating under COMAH regulations
  • Also, you have good understanding of process safety management elements and demonstrate a level of professional competence in process safety
  • Facilitation and change management skills are required as well as focus on continous improvement
  • You have knowledge of process plant technology and unit operations for the industrial gas industry
  • Furthermore, you are proficient in PFD and P&ID interpretation
  • You are proficient in consequence modelling
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver end results
  • You have the ability to analyse complex problems and understand probability and risk with a good level of audit skills
  • And lastly, you are chartered/fellow engineeror working towards Chartership with the IChemE
