Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £95 - £120 per day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic individual looking for a rewarding opportunity in education? GSL Education are actively searching for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team in Barnsley. This role offers the flexibility of working hours, allowing you to work in a classroom environment where you will ensure that students remain on track and engaged during teacher absences. Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the classroom and ensuring students stay focused on their studies in the absence of regular teachers.
  • Supporting lesson delivery in accordance with the curriculum across Key Stages.
  • Encouraging students to participate and remain on task during lessons.
  • Ensuring a positive, productive, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Implementing pre-set lesson plans to maintain the continuity of learning.

Job Requirements for a Cover Supervisor:
To be successful as a Cover Supervisor, you should have:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Previous experience in a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is required.
  • Understanding of UK curriculum according to key stages.
  • The ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and engage with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
