About the job :

The success of the department relies upon accurate and safely delivered prosecution action.

As a Single Justice and Fraud Processor you will have the dual role of ensuring that both the Single Justice Process for Penalty Fares Notices is correctly followed across all of the court regions covered by the business and the triaging and administration of new fraud referrals received by the department under the direction of a Fraud Manager.

Your main responsibilities will be:

To check, list and serve Single Justice Process (SJP) papers. Liaising with HMCTS across the GWR network to ensure that SJP cases are submitted to each court's specification.

The triaging of fraud referrals and the administration of the case management system used for Fraud Investigations.

The accurate calculation of Journey Related Fraud (JRF) loss from multiple data sources.

Ensuring that all actions, both SJP and JRF are recorded accurately.

Office administration

You'll need to be:

Familiar with Penalty Fare Regulations 2018 Familiar with writing witness statements Aware of investigation process legislation Aware of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2020 Skilled verbal and written communicator Familiar with case management Strong Team player Competent in the use of IT especially MS Word and Excel and adaptable to using other software

As a minimum you'll need to have:

Excellent interpersonal skills The ability to prioritise your workload effectively The ability to use own initiative The ability to adapt to the use of new IT software The ability to work under pressure and cope with competing and changing demands

About the location:

Reading is easily accessible on the GWR and other Train Company networks.

Working Pattern:

This is a weekday position with an expectation of 35 hours per week.

Additional Information:

There will be a requirement to work from Reading on a regular basis. However, there is also the ability to work remotely when performing some of the tasks.
