About the School: A successful, well-ordered, and caring school located in the heart of Harlow, Essex. With approximately 1000 boys and girls aged eleven to eighteen, we are committed to fostering the highest level of achievement for pupils of all abilities. Position Overview: The School are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join our outstanding department. This role involves teaching across the ability and age range, supporting the development of English to the highest standards for all pupils at Key Stages 3–5. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional, committed to fostering a love for English language and literature among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Support the development of English skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages pupil engagement, attainment, and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community through participation in extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in English.
  • Experience of teaching English at Key Stages 3–5.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • High expectations of pupil engagement, attainment, and behavior.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
