Bartender Job Purpose:Preparing beverages for patrons and serving them at the bar or restaurant if waiters are not available. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Hosting guests at the bar, putting them at ease, meeting their needs, and making recommendations

Bartender Job Duties:
  • Mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including spirits, bitters, soda and fruits
  • Taking beverage orders from customers serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail
  • Satisfying guest requests promptly
  • Assessing customer preferences and making drink recommendations
  • Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with guests
  • Collecting money for drinks served and providing change as needed or transferring drinks to the appropriate restaurant table
  • Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for customers when required Challenge 25
  • Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories
  • Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment
  • Organizing the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
  • Placing daily orders for stock requisitions from the cellar and other supplies
  • Preparing fruit garnishes for drinks
  • Preparing and serving appetizers, snacks, or other food items for customers at the bar when necessary
  • Complying with all food and beverage regulations
  • Limiting guest problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior when appropriate
  • Receiving deliveries and storing 
  • When required, meeting guests at the host station and seating 
  • Taking guest food orders at the table per a waiter's description when required
  • Taking reservations over the phone and face-to-face when no host is present

Bartender Skills and Qualifications:Training or Experience with Bartending, Extensive Knowledge of Drink Mixing and Garnishing, Strong Communication Skills, Positive Attitude, Personable demeanour, Multitasking, Attention to Detail, Organisation, Ability to Stand for Long Periods, Strong Observational Skills, Conflict Resolution, Computer Literacy, Second Language a plus.
