An opportunity has arisen for a full-time band 6 Occupational Therapist to work as part of a rotation through stroke services, orthopaedics and acute medicine. The Stroke Service is a high performing, nationally recognised centre of excellence. The Orthopaedic therapy team provides specialist input to the Elective Orthopaedic unit, supporting the consultants in providing Enhanced recovery for patients. The acute medical team works as part of an integrated model of care between physiotherapy and occupational therapy to ensure timely assessments and discharges. We would welcome you to join our dynamic and supportive team.

A band 5 to 6 training post would be considered for applicants with suitable experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced therapist at a Band 5 level or existing Band 6 with NHS experience who is well organised, seeking an opportunity to develop their skills across these clinical areas at a Band 6 level. You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and an appropriately experienced practitioner. You will need to be a registered Occupational Therapist who can demonstrate your commitment, enthusiasm and drive to develop your own clinical and team working skills within the must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate effective teamwork. You will provide high quality care in an appropriate and timely manner which is responsive to patients needs whilst adhering to recognised policies and guidelines.

The service operates over seven days and as such some weekend working is required as part of the role.

Documented evidence of continuing professional development. Post registration experience as an OT HCPC registered Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience of working in an acute setting within NHS

Broad knowledge of current best practice in OT. Apply the OT process within a specialised area of work. Have effective overall personal time management. Able to analyse professional and ethical issues. Have effective written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
