About the role

Cyber Operations purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England’s cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient, supporting Transformation Directorate’s purpose of delivering the best care and outcomes for the NHS.

The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:

Cyber Security Operations Unit (CSOU). Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU). Cyber Improvement Programme (CIP). Chief Information Security Office Function (CISO).

The Cyber Improvement Programme aims to deliver cyber improvements that provide long-term foundational change towards sustainable cyber risk management across the health and social care system, working towards the vision of creating a health and care sector that is resilient to cyber-attack, improving the safety of patients and service users through good cyber security.

To support our strategy to improve NHS England’s cyber resilience, we are recruiting for a Higher Business Analyst to work as part of the Cyber Improvement Programme .

The Role

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Cyber Operations sub-Directorate, primarily as part of the Cyber Improvement Programme. As a Higher Business Analyst you will will apply your skills, knowledge and experience to help in the delivery of the reduction of systemic and local cyber risk across health and care. This will be achieved via targeted investment in a number of workstreams which will increase cyber resilience by delivering new products, services and capabilities.

The role directly supports delivery of the outcomes set out in both the Programme Business Case as well as the longer-term 2030 National Cyber Strategy for Health and Care.

The Cyber Improvement Programme team operate using a hybrid delivery approach to deliver new products, services and capabilities both centrally and to health and care organisations. Specifically, the you will be responsible for: Working with Customers, Managers, Architects, Developers. Cyber Operations colleagues and other fellow Professionals to deliver Business Analysis products to support the delivery of challenging objectives. Bring the benefits of Business Analysis to the full delivery lifecycle with the responsibility for the delivery of products during user needs / requirements, design, development, test, implementation and operational review. Responsibility for Business Analysis work within projects, programmes or services; likely to be working across multiple workstreams within the Cyber Improvement Programme, these will be of variable scale and complexity. Provide BA support to non BA staff undertaking analytical tasks. Work within rigorous project / programme / service frameworks requiring a professional and delivery-‘can-do’ outlook.

About you

Some of the skills and experience we are looking for: Demonstrates experience of the application of Business Analysis methods and tools. Demonstrates experience of working with stakeholders for the elicitation, documentation and prioritisation of business requirements using established techniques, e.g. interviews, workshops. Demonstrates experience in the use of business modelling techniques, e.g. UML, BPMN and reviewing resulting models with stakeholders to gain resolution to resultant issues. Demonstrates experience of stakeholder management and of working with a variety of stakeholders of differing levels of seniority. Demonstrable excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate successful outcomes with stakeholders Experience of developing requirements for and analysing and developing tools to summarise complex data Although not essential, the ideal candidate will have some experience working within a cyber operations function.

Important:  Please be aware there are residency requirements you need to meet:

All NHS Digital/England Cyber Security personnel must hold security clearance SC level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements,  you must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance.  Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered. More information on SC clearance can be found
