Bishops Cleeve, United Kingdom Ontic Full time

Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team based in Staverton to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.

What you'll be doing

Working with the H&S team, you’ll provide support across our Bishops Cleeve, Staverton and Bolton sites. You will bring your experience and ideas to participate in all H&S activities, meetings, planning groups and site visits.

You’ll create and maintain H&S KPIs in addition to updating H&S records and databases including hazard and incident reporting. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring all new joiners to the business complete the necessary H&S training required within their roles. You’ll be proactive in the review and sourcing of H&S equipment whilst ensuring any changes to H&S legislation are implemented and adhered to. Youll be responsible for Risk management across all sites, actively monitoring Risk assessments and working with departments in minimising the risks and implementing best safe practices. Managing COSHH approvals and assessments working closely with the key stakeholders to improve our Chemical Management system.

You will physically split your time working at our Bishops Cleeve and Staverton sites, with very occasional travel to our Bolton site as and when required. Please note that, due to the nature of our business, this role will require access to and working in the vicinity of aviation fuels, epoxy, pressurised oxygen and other industrial COSHH materials.

What you'll already have

This would be a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their H&S experience to cover multiple sites without substantial travel requirements. You’ll have previously worked in a H&S focused role and ideally an engineering and manufaturing background with an understanding of lean methodologies, and be IOSH or above qualified (if you have begun undertaking NEBOSH qualifications you’ll have a distinct advantage).

We're a fast paced business that is constantly evolving and expanding our number of employees, so it's vital that you're able to take change in your stride and be comfortable working to tight deadlines. You'll need to have excellent attention to detail and have a positive and proactive attitude.
