We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Manchester. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individual and group support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities:

- Supporting students with SEND in the classroom and during extracurricular activities
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with specific learning difficulties
- Helping to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
- Liaising with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure that students receive appropriate support
- Encouraging independence and self-esteem in students with SEND
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievements

Requirements:

- Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Good understanding of SEND and strategies for supporting students with different needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development as required
