Cover Supervisor

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the team at a client secondary school as a Cover Supervisor. This position is available from September 2024 onwards and offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.

Our client secondary school is well-established and has a strong reputation for providing high-quality education to its students. Located in the heart of Stretford, the school is easily accessible by public transportation and offers an onsite car park for members of staff with a vehicle.

As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibility will be to supervise classes in the absence of regular teachers. You will ensure that students are engaged in their learning, maintain good behaviour, and follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Assisting students with their work and providing guidance when necessary
  • Managing student behaviour according to the school's policies
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff members
  • Collaborating with other staff members to support student progress

Requirements:

  • A passion for education and working with young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas
  • A minimum of GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
