South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust arerecruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the BARNSLEY CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTALHEALTH SERVICE based at NEW STREET HEALTH CENTRE, UPPER NEW STREET, BARNSLEY S70 1LP . This roleplays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need andwill be an integral role within Barnsley CAMHS.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management. MRCPsych. Additional clinical qualifications.

Eligibility

Essential

Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training abroad, of which at least 2 years in psychiatry. At least 6-month experience in CAMHS psychiatry.

Desirable

In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice. Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Experience of working for at least 6 months in CAMHS in UK. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within six months of appointment.

Experience

Essential

Excellent knowledge in specialty. Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Participated in continuous professional development Participated in research or service evaluation.

Desirable

Wide range of CAMHS specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service. Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post. Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications. Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to patients.
