Role: Children's Residential Care Worker

Location: Bloxwich

Hours: 36-hour contract

Shift Pattern: 2 on 4 off

Salary: up to £14 per hour* (Additional pay for sleep-ins and overtime)

 

Do you want to be part of a devoted team of care workers working in one of our beautiful Ofsted Registered Children's homes in Bloxwich, Walsall?

We provide a safe, stable and caring environment for children and young people to make their home. 

Our children and young people's ages range from 8 up to 18 years old and they have often experienced high levels of trauma, neglect, and crisis in their young lives, resulting in them experiencing complex challenges.

What is essential for this role?

  • You will need to have had at least 12 months experience working with children/young people. (Essential)

 

What will be expected from you as a Residential Care Worker?

 

  • An NVQ/Diploma Level 3, or equivalent, in Children & Young people is preferred for this role.**
  • Creating positive relationships and meeting the needs of our children and young people
  • Using your experience and skills - further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people
  • An excellent understanding of safeguarding
  • An ability to articulate and ensure comprehensive record keeping
  • Preferred - Previous experience within an OFSTED regulated residential setting
  • Preferred - Driver with full UK driving licence

*£13 per hour without qualification with an additional £60 per sleep-in

£14 per hour with qualification with an additional £60 per sleep-in

** If you do not have this qualification and are successful after interview you would be expected to enroll to complete the qualification whilst working. Upon completion your salary would then be increased in line with other qualified members of the team at the rate of £14 per hour

***We will pay for your initial DBS check, where it is then your responsibility to either join the update service or pay for a new certificate upon renewal date (every 2 years).
